Frequently Asked Questions

Antique magnifying glass and stone arrowhead on a worn leather book.

What is the cost for your services?

For individual files related to project management proposals, I invoice your firm at an agreed upon hourly rate starting with the 'go' call on your RFP services, continuing through to the final submission of the proposal.

How do we work with you?

I can meet with you if you're located in the Ottawa area, or I can work remotely if you're situated anywhere else in the world. I'll review the RFP as part of my RFP services and provide you with an email list of 'next steps'. Your team then feeds me the necessary information, which I will edit, evaluate for compliance, and enhance, in addition to drafting and incorporating further content for your approval, all while ensuring the project management proposals align with your goals.

Do you have any guarantees?

Unfortunately not. The quality of the final submission for your project management proposals is directly influenced by the quality of the information you provide to me. Ultimately, it is up to your team to put its best foot forward in the proposal writing process, especially when utilizing RFP services.

Do you have to be an expert in my industry to work on my proposals?

Not at all. I need you and your team to be the expert in project management proposals. I'll tell you whether or not you're hitting the mark in your proposal writing and RFP services.

What certifications do you have?

I hold a valid Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI), as well as a Foundation Level certification (CF-APMP) from the Association of Proposal Management Professionals, which enhances my skills in project management proposals and proposal writing, along with providing RFP services.

What do you do?

I'm often asked, "What do you do?" by firms looking to engage my RFP services. What they are really asking is, 'What part(s) of the proposal writing process do you undertake?' The answer is as many or as few as required. A firm may engage me to draft a single CV and matrix for a submission, create a set of templates, draft sections within my capability (i.e., project management proposals), or manage the entire process from start to finish. This includes finding the solicitation, circulating it to the team for a go/no-go call, creating templates, establishing the proposal schedule, setting meetings, and drafting checkpoints. I draft content, interview SMEs and consultants, receive inputs, and conduct quality control. I then build the final submission (Technical, Financial, Certifications, and Additional Information components), send it for Senior Management Review, submit it, and follow up. I also debrief on successes and losses. I can step into a team and take on any piece of the puzzle or manage the entire process, whatever is required. With over 2,500 submissions in my career, I know what needs to be done, how project management proposals should sound, and how they should look.
